THE STORY BEGINS WITH FUCOIDAN
Fucoidan is a unique component of certain species of seaweed that protects and supports the seaweed against harmful infections and bacteria. In nature, fucoidan protects seaweed from harmful infections and bacteria found in the sea. When consumed by humans fucoidan is known to have similar effects on cells within the human body.
Fucoidan containing seaweeds have long been used as a traditional medicine in Japanese and Korean culture. The population of Okinawa, an island south of mainland Japan, enjoy a longer life expectancy than any other population in the world – a staple of their local diet is seaweed containing fucoidan.
